How we work

How we check app and service information

You want to know where the details about an app or service on this site come from.

An open reference book, papers and reading glasses on a table.

We check app and service details against the official listing or the organisation’s own page, record whose words they are and the date we looked, and leave out anything we cannot confirm. Screens, settings and features we have not seen are not described.

This page shows what that looks like and how you can repeat the check yourself.

Which places do we check?

For apps, the official store listing and the provider’s own site. For services, the organisation’s own page or a government page.

We treat these as the provider’s description, not as independent proof that the app or service works. Our guide on how we keep evidence and app marketing separate explains why.

What does a checked detail look like?

Here are real examples from our fact list. The App Store lists Miracle of Mind by Sadhguru as provided by Isha Foundation, with copyright held by Isha Foundation, Inc.1. The App Store listing says it requires iOS 15.0 or later on iPhone and iPod touch2. Isha’s own page says the app is free and available on the Apple App Store for iOS and on Google Play for Android3.

Notice that these are narrow, checkable statements. We do not describe what you will see on screen, because screens change between versions and we cannot see every phone.

What do we do when a detail cannot be confirmed?

We say so, or we leave it out. For example, the MENTARI contact page lists the Selayang branch at +60361270946 and the Sungai Buloh branch at +603-61561321 (ext. 2276) or 018-86610244. The page does not state operating hours, so we do not state any.

That is the rule: an honest gap beats a confident guess. If a detail matters to you, ask the provider.

Try this: verify a detail in four steps

Use this on any app or service before you rely on it. It takes about five minutes.

  1. Open the official listing or the organisation’s own page, not a forwarded screenshot.
  2. Find the exact line that gives the detail, such as the phone number, platform or cost.
  3. Check the date or version, and whether the page says it applies to Malaysia.
  4. If a detail is missing, write one question and ask the provider directly.

A short note of your findings fits in the weekly reflection sheet, and what you type stays in your browser.

Adapting this to real life

If you use an Android phone, an older iPhone, or share a device with family, compatibility may differ from the listing, so check on your own phone. If you are choosing a service for a parent, ask about language and cost before booking, and write down who you spoke to.

If you prefer not to install anything, our other practical resources work without an app.

When to get more support

If the service you are checking is for a hard moment, you do not need to finish the checking first. Our support page lists where to start, and it is fine to call and ask your questions on the line.

Where to go next

See the app description in Miracle of Mind: what the official sources describe. To flag something that looks out of date, read how to request a correction. Everything sits on our what the research says guides.

When you are ready, Sadhguru’s free seven-minute guided meditation in the Miracle of Mind app is an optional way to hear the session for yourself.

Common questions

Where do you get app details from?

From the official store listing and the provider's own site. We record what they say, whose words they are, and the date we looked. Details we cannot open or confirm, such as a screen or setting, are left out instead of guessed.

Why do some app details stay vague?

Listings change, differ by phone and country, and sometimes cannot be opened from Malaysia. When we cannot verify a detail, we say so or point you to the provider's own page. A vague line that is honest is better than a precise line that may be wrong.

How do you check service details like helplines?

We use the organisation's own page or a government page, and keep any limits the page itself states, such as missing opening hours. We never fill a gap with a guess, and we suggest you confirm before relying on a number.

Can I trust the details forever?

No. Apps update and services change hours, numbers and languages. Treat the date we checked as a snapshot and open the provider's page for anything that matters, especially a phone number you may call in a hard moment.
