Checking referrer and friend-connection details
You tapped a friend's or a website's link and wonder what it connects.

The version notes on the App Store mention a way to connect with referred friends, and a way to share the meditation with people who have not installed the app1. They do not say what a referrer or a friend receives, and neither do we. Here is how to check the current position without guessing.
What do the version notes actually say?
The App Store version notes say one version added a way to connect with referred friends, and a later version lets users share the meditation with others without requiring them to download the app1. That is all they say.
The notes do not describe screens, steps, rewards or what data is shared. We have not tested the app, so we describe none of that.
What does our own link do?
Our buttons open a referral link towards the official download. Our guide on what our referral link does and what remains unverified sets out what we know and what we do not. The short version: the link is a way to reach the app, and you can read every page here without ever using it.
Who do I ask about a referral?
The provider. The App Store lists the app as provided by Isha Foundation2, and Isha’s own page lists [email protected] as a contact email for the app3. Use the contact shown on the day you write.
Try this: a calm check before you accept a link
Do this when a friend sends a link on the family WhatsApp group, or when you land here from a search.
- Look at the name of the person who sent it, and decide if you trust the message.
- Open the app’s page in your store, by searching for its name if you prefer.
- Check the developer name matches what you found in our provider check.
- Read the description and the privacy section before installing.
- Write down any question about the referral for the provider, and ask it before you decide.
What if I want to share it with someone else?
Share it the way you would share a recipe: tell them what it is, say it is optional and leave them free to say no. Our guide on explaining a free recommendation kindly has gentle wording for a parent or a friend who does not want another app.
Please do not send a friend’s contact details to anyone without asking them first. That is a courtesy, and it protects both of you.
What if I would rather not use any link?
Then do not. Search for the app by name, or leave it. Our guide on practical options without an app is complete on its own.
Fitting this into a real day
Links arrive at awkward times, such as during dinner or in the middle of a work chat. You do not have to answer at once. Save the message, and come back when you have a calm ten minutes at home.
If a link comes from someone you do not know, skip it and search the store by name instead. If a friend presses you to install, a kind “thanks, I will look when I can” is a complete reply.
Where to go next
If your phone uses a different store region, read checking a referral handoff when a phone uses a different app-store region. For the data side, see website privacy and app privacy.
If you feel ready, Sadhguru’s free seven-minute guided meditation in the Miracle of Mind app is optional, and no friend connection is needed to try it.
Common questions
Does a referral change what I get?
No source we read says what a referral gives the person who shares it or the person who follows it. We will not guess. If it matters to you, ask the provider, and remember that the reason to try the app is the free seven-minute meditation, not the referral.
Can I connect with the friend who shared the link?
The version notes mention a way to connect with referred friends. They do not say how it works, so look inside the app, or ask the provider. You are free to ignore it.
Does sharing need my friend to install the app?
The version notes say one version lets users share the meditation with others without requiring them to download the app. They do not describe the steps, so check the current version yourself.
Do I have to use a referral link to install?
No. You can search for the app by its name in your store and check that the developer is Isha Foundation. Our link guide explains what our own button does and what remains unverified.
